Exercising in the Forest Fitness Centre.

Cardio Squat machine. This is used to work the hips, legs, heart & lungs - It may look "laid back" but it can be hard work ! This young man has already had a hip replacement operation due to a congenital hip condition.

Resting between Exercises is important for recovery. Each Trainee is given a unique "work-schedule" of saying what exercises they are to do, how often before a pause and how many 'repeats' of the pattern they are to do.

You can't just 'start doing the Exercises.' Young, Old, Fit, Unfit - Everyone needs a "Warm-Up." Steady cycling forms part of the 'warm up.'

This is the "Free-Running Skiing machine" which helps with Fitness, Balance and Co-ordination.
John 'rows the boat ashore'.
John on the Seated Rowing Machine, which can be used for strengthening the Back and Shoulder Girdles. Part of the use pattern is to exercise with the chest upright and not leaning against the padded support - the padding is there for safety - not for comfort !
