Exercising in the Forest Fitness Centre.

A good workout makes people feel good physically, mentally and emotionally - they learn how to push their own limits in a safe environment. From this comes high self-esteem.

Ppwer Lifting for Trainees with Special Needs requires not just vigilance but also knowledge of the actual need and the ability to allow the Trainee to go safely to the maximum he or she wants and is able to achieve. The Fitness Centre then becomes a place of freedom as well.

In Power Lifting, as with so many other things in life, you can't just go at it like a bull at a gate ... You have to act sensibly and warm up on the Bench Press with light weights.
But even 'light weights' can do damage if they should slip - so here, as in all the Power Lifting exercises, there is always someone there to watch out and prevent an accident.

One part of an Instructor's job is to make sure that the Trainee Lifter is in the correct position for that lift.

So, practicing Safe Technique is essential at the beginning of a new exercise until it becomes 'Second Nature' - and even then the Instructor will be monitoring to see that 'bad habits' haven't crept in !

Power Lifting can be tiring - So it's a good idea to take a breather. The 'yawning' is a sure sign of oxygen shortage so a sit down and some good deep breaths will work wonders.
