The new centre will be affiliated to a number of National Governing Bodies and organisations such as B.W.L.A., Special Olympics U.K., the Forest Voluntary Action Forum, and the R.E.Ps. register. All voluntary or paid instructors will be independently affiliated as well. All health assessments and provision of individual programmes in the new Centre will be carried out by a qualified Physiotherapist and on specific sessions for the elderly and rehabilitation training at least 3 to 4 suitable qualified instructors will be in attendance. It can be seen from this Brief that this New Healthy Lifestyle Centre fully meets and encompasses the criteria and requirements of the Sports Council, Health Education Authority, Governing Bodies, Community Health Centres, NHS Physio Departments and all members of the Forest of Dean communities in providing treatment, exercise and fitness, sports training, competitive lifting for main stream and special needs and social interactions while educating and encouraging them to a full, healthy and active quality of life. It is proposed to commence work on the new Centre in the Autumn of 2003, some of the groundwork will be completed during the school holidays, thus enhancing site safety procedures and preparing it for its new opening in May 2004. |
